Superman quickly realizes he doesn't have the strength to survive being shot with a kryptonite bullet and prepares to meet his fate. Just as the bullet is about to hit him, Superman is saved by none other than Batman! Batman steps in and takes the shot, sacrificing himself to save Superman. The two heroes lay together, bloodied and battered, but Superman is alive and safe. Superman, always thankful for Batman's heroism, helps him up and smiles, saying, "Thank you, Batman. I owe my life to you." The Joker, shocked and angered by Batman's selfless act of heroism, disappears into the shadows, defeated. As the dust settles and the battle ends, Superman and Batman stand together, ready to face whatever dangers may come their way.
