Superman is hit by the bullet and is deflected due to his superpowers, but the force of the bullet causes Superman to become deeply angry and he turns to the Joker and punches him in the stomach with the full force of his incredible strength. This punch shatters the Joker's ribcage and sends him flying through time and space, eventually crashing into an alternate universe. As he lies on the ground in pain, he notices a familiar figure walking towards him. It is Superman, but he is wearing a different suit and cape. Superman looks at the Joker and tells him that he had been searching for him for a long time. The Joker realizes that this new Superman is from an alternate universe, and he is here to avenge Batman. Superman reveals that in his universe, the Joker had killed Batman and caused much grief and tragedy. Now, he was here to right the wrong and make sure that the Joker's reign of terror ends. The Joker, realizing the scale of Superman's anger and power, quickly runs away in fear. Superman watches him go and then turns around to return to his own universe. He knows that the Joker will never be able to escape justice, but he hopes that the example of his own power and anger will be a reminder to all evil doers around the universe.
