The Internet Recommends Songs

The songs on my iPhone

What's on this page?

This page lists all of the songs I have downloaded on my iPhone. These are the absolute best songs that have ever been created (in my opinion at the time). My tastes skew toward Hip Hop, Rap, and R&B, but I'm open to any type of music

For each song, I will provide the title of the song, the artist who created it, and the date it was produced. Then comes the embedded video so you can listen to the song easily. Below that, I have a space to share any comments I have about the song. I might explain why it is the best song, quote a great lyric from it, or try to be funny. There are also links to the lyrics and a way to purchase the song on Amazon(or some related merchandise if it isn't available). Finally, I state the date I downloaded the song onto my iPhone.

If there is anything else you think I should include or exclude, please tell me in the comments.

Why did I make this page?

I wanted to document my music tastes over time as well as share it with other people on The Internet. As I scroll down, I see how my preferences have changed and developed.

I hope people find this development interesting. I want for people to come here to discover new, interesting music to listen to and discuss the songs that interests them.

#18 "Blow My High (Members Only)" by Kendrick Lamar (2011)

Props to the DJ. This is the sickest beat when you're a half a blunt in. Listen to Big Pimpin' if you want to hear Pimp C wrap the hook way too fast.

"Blow My High (Members Only)" was the 18th song added to my iPhone, on June 20th, 2016.

#17 "Sunday Candy" by Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment feat. Chance The Rapper and Jamila Woods (2015)

I was on that gospel tip.

#15 "Ultralight Beam" by Kanye West feat. Chance the Rapper, The-Dream, Kelly Price, and Kirk Franklin (2016)

Chance's verse is really what got me into this song. This song taught me that Kelly Price is an absolutely amazing singer.

#10 "Freaks and Geeks" by Childish Gambino (2011)

This is the song that embodies Childish Gambino and Donald Glover. Gambino centers this whole song around the cult classic Freaks and Geeks, and switches between fire lines about pop culture and boasts about his dick with ease.

"Freaks and Geeks" was the 10th song added to my iPhone, on June 13th, 2016.

#9 "Nobody Speak" by DJ Shadow feat. Run The Jewels (2016)

This was the closing credits song for the season 3 premiere of Silicon Valley. Run The Jewels is always sick, but this one isn't as great as Blockbuster Night Part 1 on last season's premiere.

#8 "Everyday" by A$AP Rocky (2015)

If you can get day drunk to this, do it.

#7 "Excuse Me" by A$AP Rocky (2015)

The first time I heard this song was in the music video for L$D (LOVE x $EX x DREAMS). It really is the best opening to it.

"Excuse Me" was the 7th song added to my iPhone, on June 13th, 2016.

#6 "A.D.H.D" by Kendrick Lamar (2011)

Eight doobies to the face, fuck God

Twelve bottles in the case, nigga, fuck thought

Two pills and a half-weight, nigga, fuck that

"A.D.H.D" was the 6th song added to my iPhone, on June 13th, 2016.

#5 "Once In Awhile" by Don't Stop or We'll Die (2011)

I got reminded of this after seeing Harris Wittels on Parks and Rec. At least, I bet the heroin is amazing in heaven.

"Once in Awhile" was the 5th song added to my iPhone, on June 12th, 2016.

#4 "The Worst Guys" by Childish Gambino feat. Chance The Rapper (2013)

FROM TION SOME SOME TION. Just sick flows by Gambino, but Chance steels the show with his 5 words on half the chorus.

"Worst Guys" was the 4th song added to my iPhone, on June 11th, 2016.

#3 "Blockbuster Night Part 1" by Run The Jewels (2014)

This is my second favorite song from the show Silicon Valley. It was the closing credits song on the season 2 premier. You really should have headphones with good bass to listen to this.

#1 "Ignition (Remix)" by R. Kelly (2002)
