How to Earn Free Cryptocurrency

Coinbase officially records that I've earned $12.25 in rewards, $7.50 in ALEO, $3 in NEAR, $1 in LRDS, and $0.75 in ZETACHAIN.

Beyond that, I think I've actually earned a few additional rewards, including 288 of VET, 10.9 of GRT, and 0.78 of AKT.

Overall, Coinbase Rewards are probably the best platform I've tried so far. It's easy to use and the tasks are easy and interesting. They periodically add additional rewards and I actually haven't even done all of them (since some of them actually require you to purchase something which I'll pass up).

The basic idea is that you use PARC (which are like tokens) to play games in the app to earn PART which you can spend in the store to enter raffles.

PuzzleWallet is probably the app I've spent the most time on. Hell, my Squash is over 20kg now. You'll understand that reference if you've done one of the very few things you can do on this app as of right now (5/16/2025)

Currently, there are 3 games:

1. Mystery City: 3 rounds of GeoGuessr where you get PART for how close you are on the world map to the actual location shown - this is by far the best game, although it gets old.


2. Squash Farming: Pretty much like a login streak - you water your squash each day and it gets bigger and eventually sprouts legs.


3. Wheel of Gifts: You spin a wheel and get rewarded PART. Previously, you would always get at least 1 PART (and up to 10), but after the update, they added the possibility of getting 0 PART which kind of sucks.

Beyond the games, the Store is a bit lackluster as well. They've improved the interface in the most recent update to more clearly see your giveaway entries and whether you won or loss, which was great, but it still doesn't change that everything in store seems sold out and I've entered 3 giveaways so far spending 114 PART without winning anything. The potential prizes for 2 of the giveaways was 25 0.022 ETH (which I liked) and 5 $10 Uber gift cards (which are kind of lame).

To earn PARC to use in the arcade, you can onboard 1 ALEO to your Puzzle Wallet and stake 1 ALEO on BetaStake. I got the $3.99/month Puzzle Pro (since you got I think $5 in ALEO for doing that on Coinbase), though, which allows you to onboard and stake 5 ALEO per day, allowing you to get 11 PARC per day (including the 1 PARC per day benefit of Puzzle Pro).

Puzzle Pro is honestly making most of this worth it since it will pay ALEO fees for playing games and incentives you to move and stake 5 ALEO per day with about 10% APY which is pretty good. Otherwise, I feel like it wouldn't be worth it all.

Worldcoin is probably my favorite platform I've used so far. I feel like the idea of human verification on the internet is becoming increasingly important and they also are generous with their rewards.

Since I've had Worldcoin and World App, I've been able to claim WLD through signing up, claiming their $3 monthly drops, and claiming my Pioneer identification (receiving 50 WLD now and 100 WLD in a month). Currently, I'm keeping them in the Vault, earning 10% APY. At the current price, that's around $75, so it's a pretty great way to earn some extra money.

Beyond the available rewards, the World App is very well made, the process for claiming WLD or other cryptocurrencies in the app is intuitive and seamless, and there are actually some cool Mini Apps to play around with.

The major downsides of Worldcoin is its availability and concerns about privacy. According to their website, they have Orbs in a bit over 20 countries, with 6 Orb locations in the U.S. Luckily I live near SF and like to travel through California, so I was able to easily make an appointment and have an enjoyable experience going in to get verified. To address the other concern, while it can feel a bit dystopian to look into an Orb taking a retina scan, I think Worldcoin does a great job at ensuring your privacy. To quote their thorough privacy page, "Once [an iris code] is generated, the protocol can check that you have not previously created a verified World ID. Because it is just a long number (a string), it tells nothing about you, just that you are a unique human. Moreover, the iris code is not kept or retained by the network. Instead, the iris code is further processed through an advanced anonymizing technology (read about Anonymized Multi-Party Computation) to ensure that no personal data is stored."

That's a good enough protocol for ensuring privacy to me, but it's important to make your own informed choice.
