Hariakhan Babaji is an Indian saint who is said to have appeared in northern India in the early 1800s. He is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva and is said to have lived for about two hundred years. He is sometimes referred to as Mahavatar Babaji, as well as Baba Lokenath. He is remembered as a spiritual teacher and master of kriya yoga. He is said to have initiated many into the practice of Kriya Yoga, including the yogi Lahiri Mahasaya and the great 20th Century guru Paramahansa Yogananda. He is also said to have predicted the world wars of the 20th Century. He is thought to have left the physical plane in the late 1930s, though some suggest he still lives on in a spiritual form.
