The room quieted down as she squirmed occasionally, obviously amused by the predicament she found herself in. Unaware of her ironic enjoyment, the criminal began laughing and taunting her. "Honestly, Black Canary, I thought you were tougher than this," the increasingly bold criminal mocked. As he left, still reveling in the thrill of his successful theft and capture of a superhero, Black Canary was left alone. She wondered whether she had miscalculated her ties, realising with a twinge of embarrassment that escape was not an immediate option. However, like all superheroes - her patience, resilience and determination were likely to serve her well until the tables turned once again in her favor.
