Lost on Halloween Night

One Halloween night, I went trick-or-treating with my parents in our neighborhood. I wore a wizard costume and carried a pumpkin bucket for candy. Everything was fun—houses were decorated with lights and fake spiders, and people walked around in colorful outfits. After visiting a house with a big skeleton in the yard, I got distracted by a group of kids wearing glow-in-the-dark masks. I followed them down the sidewalk, thinking my parents were right behind me. But when I turned around, I suddenly couldn’t see my mom or dad anywhere. The street felt darker and noisier, and all the costumes around me looked the same. My heart started beating fast and I felt scared. I tried calling for my parents, but my voice was small and nobody answered at first. I remembered what they told me: “If you get lost, stay in one spot.” So, I stopped walking and stood near a street lamp. After a few minutes, I saw my mom and dad hurrying toward me. They looked worried but hugged me tight, saying everything was okay. We kept trick-or-treating together after that, and I made sure to always stay close to them.
