Question: Story: Write me a story about 8 year old Mike going to the local Walgreens alone for the first time. His 28 year old mom gave him money for either a small toy or some candy. Grabbing which he wanted from the store, he left. On his way through the parking lot, he was stopped. Looking up at who was stopping him, he noticed the 40 year old homeless woman named Abigail aka Apple Jack. She was skinny but looked very good for her age and had her black hair in a messy bun. She was wearing a black tank top, jean short shorts, leather wedge sandals, and had her black purse on her shoulder. Abigail said the quote "Do you have any more money to get anything from Walgreens? I'm not allowed in there cause I didn't pay for my things sweetie" Mike looked up and said he didn't have any more money and sorry. Abigail frowned and said the quote "It's okay baby, not your fault. Wanna a hug?" Mike was more than happy to hug Abigail and did but instantly felt dizzy. Opening his eyes, he noticed he was now taller. Looking down, he saw he was now wearing the woman's purse on his shoulder, her tank top, her short shorts and her wedge sandals. Mike went through her purse finding things he didn't recognize like bear spray, a large lighter, tampons, etc. Mike looked down at the wedge sandals and the purse on his shoulder and removed them all leaving them on the ground deciding they were too girly for him. Going back to the Walgreens in his new bare female feet, Mike got stopped at the door by a female employee. The worker held up a picture of Abigail stealing. Mike turned around and left sad not being able to go into his favorite store. He suddenly spotted his own body still nearby and ran over assuming the woman must be inside. Mike said the quote "Hi miss, I think our hug made us become each other. Sorry about that" in Abigail's voice. Abigail said the quote "No actually. We aren't swapping back. I won't have to be stuck on the street anymore. Enjoy being a vulnerable homeless woman who can't go in most stores cause she stole from them. Have a nice life as a 40 year old woman" Mike realized Abigail said 40 and panicked as he looked down at his body realizing he was much older than his own mom. Shortly, Mike's memories changed, altered and matured until he only remembered himself as Abigail. The new Abigail blinked a few times before looking around the parking lot. She looked down at her feet realizing she was barefoot. The new Abigail said the quote "Why am I barefoot? Where did my wedge sandals go? And where did I put my purse? Oh God Abigail! What is wrong with me? I'm only 40 years old. I shouldn't losing things this easily" Abigail then spotted her wedge sandals and purse off in the distance running over to them. She sat on the cement grabbing her wedge sandals and slipping them back on and grabbed her purse throwing it over her shoulder. Abigail then checked her purse for all her belongings finding her bear spray, her large lighter, her tampons and her lipstick. The new Abigail said the quote "Oh thank God my bear spray and tampons are still inside" Abigail then saw the Walgreens and was tempted to try and sneak inside. Deciding she needed some makeup and nail polish. Before she had a chance to enter, a female employee stopped her showing her the photo of her stealing. The new Abigail looked at the photo knowingly and said the quote "Sorry, I just wanted some makeup and nail polish. How long will I be trespassed?" The woman didn't answer her as Abigail left the store without any of what she wanted. Abigail started strutting out of the parking lot as it got darker and got nervous. Finding a nearby alleyway, she pulled the bear spray out of her purse and sprayed some making sure it was still full before sitting up against the wall and falling asleep. The real Abigail was more than happy to leave her old life behind. Now she wasn't homeless and she was much younger but unfortunate Mike would spend the rest of his life believing he was a homeless woman named Abigail.

In the small town of Chestnut Grove, everyone was familiar with one another. The local Walgreens was the melting pot for neighborhood gossip and accidental run-ins with friends and acquaintances. It was a fine, sunny day when Mike, an eight-year-old boy, was sent on his first solo trip to the neighborhood Walgreens. With a few dollars clutched in his little hand, the world looked enormous and inviting. At the sight of colorful candy and small toys, Mike's heart pounded with excitement. After careful consideration, he picked out his desired item, paid the cashier, and strolled out, the delight of his newfound independence radiating off him. As he stepped out into the parking lot, he noticed a woman standing a few feet away. He recognized her as Abigail, a homeless woman commonly known as Apple Jack, who had been a perpetual dweller in their community for years. Despite her adverse circumstances, Abigail carried a peculiar charm about her. Her black hair was tousled into a messy bun and she was dressed in a black tank top, shorts, and wedge sandals, her black purse hanging loosely from her shoulder. With a weary smile, she approached Mike and asked politely if he happened to have extra money to buy something from Walgreens. Unfortunately, all Mike had was a few cents left after his purchase. Expressing his sincere apologies to Abigail, he instantly noticed a change in her demeanor. Abigail held out her arms wide and said, "No worries, sweetheart. How about a hug?" Trusting and innocent, Mike readily agreed. As he hugged her close, he felt a sudden wave of dizziness washed over him. He could have sworn he grew several feet taller, and a look down confirmed as such. Mike was shocked when he found himself dressed in Abigail's clothes, her purse on his shoulder. He was in a woman's body, Abigail's body! He was even more confused as he sifted through the contents of 'his' purse—the bear spray, the large lighter, the tampons. Out of a sense of uncomfortable confusion with these feminine belongings, Mike cast off the sandals and purse he now wore and decided to return to the store, shuffling awkwardly, barefoot. However, he was stopped at the entrance by an employee bearing a photo of Abigail, accusing her of theft. He trudged away, dejectedly, only to spot his own body. A sense of desperation filled him as he approached his own body, controlled now by the former Abigail. He addressed her in the voice that no longer seemed his own, attempting to explain the situation. Her reply, however, crushed the last bits of his hope. She refused to switch back, exulting in her new life while condemning Mike to her old existence as a homeless woman. As realization sunk in, the mental shift started, and soon his memories began to rewrite themselves. Looking at his reflection in a car window, he no longer saw an eight-year-old boy but a forty-year-old homeless woman, "Abigail". Startled by his bare feet, Abigail looked around to find his wedge sandals and purse discarded carelessly. Quickly she picked them up, checked her belongings, and sighed with relief. The temptation to walk into the Walgreens was almost compulsive but refrained when an employee showed the same photo of her stealing earlier. She surrendered to her new identity and spent the rest of the day in quiet resignation. As darkness fell, she found a forgotten alleyway to shelter in for the night. Employing the bear spray, now a familiar object, to fend off any potential danger, she drifted off to a fitful sleep. Meanwhile, the original Abigail reveled in her newfound youth and independence. She surely would miss her former identity, but it was a price she was willing to pay for a fresh new start. And as for Mike, he would live the remainder of his life as Abigail, a homeless woman confined to the corner of their small town Walgreens. Such was an extraordinary tale in the humble and ordinary town of Chestnut Grove.
