Satellite images are produced by capturing and processing images or data from satellites in Earth’s orbit. A satellite’s sensors collect electromagnetic radiation, which can range from visible light to infrared or microwave radiation. Once the satellite has captured the radiation, the data is processed and interpreted to form an image. Depending on the type of satellite, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours for the image to be processed.
