Title: "Trading Places" [Opening Scene: Paw-Tucket Park] **Roxie McTerrier** (excitedly): Guess what, guys? I found this mysterious, glittery medallion at the park today! **Jade Catkin** (raising an eyebrow): Oooh, mysterious AND glittery. This has Edie written all over it. **Edie Von Keet** (swooping in): Did someone say glittery!? Let me see! **Bev Gilturtle** (inspecting): Fascinating! According to my research, objects like this may have magical properties... **Quincy Goatee** (chuckling): Magical? You mean besides attracting Edie? **Trip Hamston** (sniffing): It just smells like...old metal. Roxie holds the medallion up, and suddenly it starts to glow and vibrate. The pets gasp! **Roxie**: Uh, guys...is it supposed to do that? A multicolored light envelops the six friends. FLASH! [Cut To: The pets each looking at themselves in confusion as the world spins] **Roxie (but in Jade's body, voice comes from Jade’s body):** Uh… guys? Why am I so… agile? And… furry? (looks at paw, sees a cat claw) **Jade (in Roxie’s body):** (touching snout, surprised) Oh paws, is that… a DOG NOSE!? No, no, no! I don’t do dog noses! **Quincy (in Trip’s body):** Hammity-ham! Why am I so round? Wait—am I… Trip? **Trip (in Quincy’s body):** (leaps tall distance) Whoa, I can jump! I’ve got actual goat legs! I’m basically an athlete! **Edie (in Bev’s body):** (slowly) Why… am I…moving…so…slowly… I…can’t…even…flap…my…wings… **Bev (in Edie’s body):** (spins in circles) I can FLY! Woohoo! Watch me do my screaming seagull routine—AWWAAWK! Hey, this is kinda fun. [Jade (in Roxie’s body)] (closing her eyes): Okay, let’s not panic. We just need to swap back. Roxie, where’s the medallion? **Roxie (in Jade):** Uh… it’s… not in my pockets—I mean, my fur—pouches—Um, cats don’t have pockets! **Quincy (in Trip):** Uh oh. I think it fell in the fountain during the light show. [They rush to the fountain with their swapped bodies, causing mishaps: Edie-bev is too slow, Bev-edie overshoots and lands in flowers, Trip-quincy tries to eat grass, Jade-roxie runs into a hydrant, and Roxie-jade gets stuck climbing a tree.] **Jade (in Roxie’s body):** This is a nightmare. How do dogs walk on such stubby little legs? **Roxie (in Jade’s body):** Uh, like this! Woohoo! I’m so FLUFFY! Look, Jade, I’m pouncing! **Quincy (in Trip’s body):** Stop, you two! We have to fix this before— **Trip (in Quincy’s body):** Anyone sees us and calls a veterinarian? Or Pixie? **Bev (in Edie’s body):** No time for screeching, Edie—I mean, myself. Let’s get the medallion. [They all make a wobbly effort, but the medallion has fallen to the bottom of the fountain.] **Jade (in Roxie’s body):** Roxie, you’re the best digger—wait, I’m…you—oh, paws. **Roxie (in Jade’s body):** Jade, you’ve got claws—oh, but I’m you! Should I scratch at it? **Trip (in Quincy’s):** Okay, maybe my (raises hoofs) Quincy legs can help! [Everyone tries to retrieve the medallion, but instead they slip and slide into the fountain.] **Edie (in Bev’s body):** This is not my best underwater look! **Jade (in Roxie’s body):** On the count of three, everyone pounce! One, two, three! [They jostle and at last, Trip-quincy catches the medallion on a horn.] **Trip (in Quincy’s):** Got it! Now what? **Bev (in Edie’s):** We all need to touch it and repeat what happened before. Everyone, paws, wings, claws, and hooves on! [Paws, hooves, claws, and a wing all pile onto the glittery medallion. They say together:] **All:** "We want our own bodies back!" [The medallion glows and a magical FLASH envelopes them again.] [Next Scene: All pets inspect themselves, delighted to be back to normal.] **Roxie (wagging tail):** I’m ME! I missed my nose! **Jade (stretching):** I can finally groom myself properly. Never again… **Quincy:** (laughing) That was one wild ride, Trip. I don’t know how you deal with that curly tail all day! **Trip:** (smiling) Well, I always say, embrace your inner ham! **Edie:** (flapping) Bev, you’re amazing for being so calm and slow. I was going bonkers! **Bev:** (shrugs) And you have serious energy, Edie! Flying is… hard. [They all laugh together.] **Roxie:** Well, I guess the medallion taught us something: It doesn’t matter what body you have. It’s who you are that counts! **Jade:** And next time, Roxie, let’s avoid picking up mysterious glittery things, okay? **Edie:** Oooh, but what if it’s a rainbow next time? **All:** (in unison) EDIE! [Screen freezes on their laughing faces as the pet sun sets behind them.] [End Credits]
