### Episode Title: “The Barking Parakeet”
#### ACT 1
#### [SCENE: Paw-Tucket Central Plaza – Day. The sun is shining, and the pets are gathered around a colorful sign that says: “Paw-Tucket Players Present – Big Dog, Bigger Dreams: The Musical!”]
**Edie (flapping onto the plaza, puffing her feathers, *sparkle cue*):** “Out of the way, darling pets! Star coming through!”
*The crowd parts as Edie parades in, fluttering her wings grandly. Trip (in Bev’s turtle body) and Bev (in Trip’s hamster body) are awkwardly bumping into things, still not used to each other’s forms.*
**Trip (in Bev’s body, voice still Trip’s):** “Yo, Edie! You tryin’ out for the play?”
**Edie (bowing):** “Try out? Please. There are try-‘outs’ and then there are natural leads. *Moi* has a built-in spotlight.”
**Bev (in Trip’s body, voice still Bev’s, wiggling little hamster arms):** “We’re gonna audition, too! I brought tap shoes and a snack baggie. Just in case. Ooh! What role are you going for?”
**Edie:** “Roxie - the lead, obviously. Who else has the *range* to embody the soul of a dreamer dog? My owner is always saying I’m such a performer, after all...”
*Roxie bounds up, tongue out.*
**Roxie:** “Hi guys! Hi Edie! Wow, isn’t this exciting?! I hope I get cast! I practiced my ‘WOOF!’ all morning. Listen…”
*(Does an enthusiastic but goofy bark.)*
**Jade (yawning, tail swishing):** “Your ‘woof’ sounds like a hairball, Roxie.”
**Quincy (nervously munching a carrot):** “I was gonna audition, but... oh dear... what if I faint on stage?”
---
#### [SCENE: THEATER - AUDITIONS]
*At the Little Theater, Stella the Swan director (cameo), reads the call sheet. Edie, Roxie, Quincy and Bev/Trip line up nervously. A sign reads: “Lead Audition: Must Play a DOG.”*
**Stella (directorial, clap):** “Let’s start! Roxie?”
**Roxie (springing forward):** “Ready!”
*(She does a big leap, yapping with glee, tail wagging. The panel (Stella and Jade, who looks bored) nod approvingly.)*
**Stella:** “Wonderful passion! Edie, darling, show us your...um...dog.”
*Edie struts forward, ruffles feathers, and tries to look canine. She strikes an absurd pose: one wing pointed, one claw out.*
**Edie (over-pronounced dramatic voice):** “Bark! Bark! I am... a dog. Ruff. Oh, look – I chase my tail! Splendid, no?”
*Jade hides a snicker in her paw.*
**Stella:** “Alright…Edie, can you try it…less…bird…more…canine?”
**Edie (sarcastically):** “How does one simply...become a dog? It’s against every instinct in my tail feathers.”
**Trip (in Bev’s body, rapping):** “Just gotta feel it, girl. Be the dog. Think, like… bones, hydrants, unconditional wiggle energy!”
**Edie (frustrated):** “I do not *wiggle*. I *glide*.”
**Bev (in Trip’s body):** “Try again, Edie! Remember what your owner says: channel those feelings!”
*Edie tries again, awkwardly imitating a dog. She still comes off as a parakeet trying to act.*
---
#### [LATER, AT THE CASTING BOARD]
*Edie scans the list, Jade’s beside her.*
**Edie (ecstatic):** “OH! Edie Von Keet – as Bella, Big Dog! *le gasp* I did it! Eat your heart out, Broadway!”
**Jade (rolling her eyes):** “Congrats, you peacock. You’re the only one who wanted a million dramatic monologues.”
**Roxie:** “Ooh, Edie, you’ll be so great!”
*(Wags tail, sniffs ground like a dog)*
“Are you gonna eat a shoe in act two? I hope so! I practiced. Listen…”
*(Starts gnawing on her own paw.)*
---
#### ACT 2
#### [SCENE: PAW-TUCKET PLAZA – EDIE’S CRISIS]
*Edie, in a dramatic funk, is unable to “be” a dog. She watches Roxie roll on the grass nearby.*
**Edie (to herself):** “How hard can it be to act like a dog? Surely, with my RADA credentials (Radio and Dramatic Avian Academy)...”
*She tries to “woof,” but a warbling tweet comes out. Roxie joins in, licking her own face.*
**Roxie:** “Everything okay, Edie? You look more ruffled than Jade after a morning latte.”
**Edie (melodramatic):** “It’s impossible, darling! I can’t bark, I can’t wag, I can barely look at my own shadow without wanting to...preen. How can I play Bella, Queen of the Big Backyard, if I can’t even feel like a dog?”
**Roxie:** “Hmmm... have you tried rolling in dirt? It helps me.”
**Edie:** “...Disaster.”
*Enter Trip/Bev and Bev/Trip, wobbling as they try to synchronize their swapped bodies.*
**Bev (in Trip’s body):** “Edie, what’s wrong? You look like you lost opening night *and* your backup sparkle feather.”
**Edie:** “I simply CANNOT do it! I must *hibernate* until the pain passes... Wait – BEV, WHY ARE YOU A HAMSTER?!”
**Trip (in Bev’s body, proud):** “Thanks to Manny Mouser’s body swap invention. We swapped for fun! Check it out, turtle spin!”
*(Trips and lands in Bev’s shell, upside-down.)*
**Edie (suddenly inspired):** “A machine that lets me *actually* be a dog. Brilliant! Utter genius! Take me to this miraculous contraption! If I can spend a day as Roxie, I’ll finally understand the role from the inside out!”
**Bev:** “Uh, aren’t you worried it might be…weird?”
**Trip:** “Nah, what’s the worst that could happen? Except eating lettuce for breakfast when you’re not equipped to digest it.”
---
#### [SCENE: MANNY’S WORKSHOP]
*Manny is fiddling with gadgets. There are sparks, a circuit board, and a sign: “No Goats Allowed After Last Incident.”*
**Manny:** “Welcome to the future (subject to regular malfunctions)! What brings you to my lair of wonder?”
**Edie:** “Manny, darling, I require your body swap device! For art! For glory! For...method acting.”
**Manny (pushing up glasses):** “You want to swap with...who?”
**Edie:** “Roxie, of course! The perfect canine template.”
**Roxie:** “Wait, I get to be you? I could preen and chirp and wear, like, a *tiny beret!*”
**Bev:** “We’re still, uh, trying to swap Trip and me back. But Manny says one at a time or kaboom.”
**Trip (wobbling):** “Yo, safety first! I’ll just, uhh, cheer from the turtle bench…”
**Manny:** “Please stand under the lemon-zapper coil. And remember: ‘The voice stays with the body!’ Ready?”
*Edie and Roxie stand under the coil. Manny throws a giant lever. ZAP! With starry spins, voices swap!*
**Edie (now in Roxie’s body, voice still Edie’s – posh):** “Egads! I have...FUR!”
*(she checks herself, then sniffs the air)*
**Roxie (now in Edie’s body, voice still Roxie’s):** “Oh wow! Feathers! And...is that glitter?”
**Manny:** “You have 48 hours or the morphic resonance gets wobbly, but you’ll be fine for rehearsal.”
---
#### [MONTAGE: EDIE AS ROXIE EXPERIENCES “DOG LIFE”]
– Edie (in Roxie’s body) fetching a stick, but instead brings a leaf and presents it triumphantly.
– Walking in circles then trying to “curl up” on a patch of grass.
– Fails spectacularly at barking; instead makes a “bawk!” that confuses everyone.
– Roxie (in Edie’s body) attempts to fly. Flaps wings frantically but only manages a wobbly hover.
– Jade lounging, smirking: “You two finally found someone as extra as themselves.”
---
#### ACT 3
#### [SCENE: THEATER – REHEARSAL]
*Stella the director claps for attention. Cast is gathered: Edie(Roxie’s body), Roxie(Edie’s body), Jade (stage managing), Quincy (dancing nervous goat), Trip/Bev and Bev/Trip on the crew.*
**Stella:** “Edie, Roxie, you seem… different today. But the show must go on! Let’s start with the big number – ‘Dreams Are for Barking.’”
**Edie (in Roxie’s body, full drama):**
“Barks... do I bark with my soul? Like this?”
*(She gives a very Edie-style dramatic yelp, complete with 3 spins and a simulated faint.)*
**Jade (deadpan, to Quincy):** “She’s still a bird, just...with more tail.”
**Roxie (in Edie’s body, excited):**
“Do I sing, or do I just tweet? What if I combine both, like—”
*(starts singing, but it’s all warbling chirps)*
*Trip (from backstage, as Bev):* “Yo Quincy, you nervous?”
*Quincy (quaking):* “Worse than a broccoli sale at the pet store! What if I faint onstage?”
*Bev (encouraging, as Trip):* “Just remember, tap your hooves, Quincy. If you faint, at least faint in rhythm!”
---
#### [SCENE: MANNY’S WORKSHOP – PANIC]
*Manny’s tinkering as alarms BLARE.*
**Manny:** “Oh no… the resonance bubble’s destabilizing! The swap device needs a full recalibration. I can’t swap anybody back until after the show!”
*He calls Edie (still in Roxie’s body) on his “Mew-Mew Messenger.”*
**Manny (frantically):** “Edie, bad news: my machine’s on the fritz! You and Roxie’ll have to perform like this.”
**Edie (overly calm):** “So…Roxie is me, and I am Roxie, and we all are possibly about to endure the worst theatrical disaster since ‘Hamsters on Ice’... Marvelous.”
*(faints the way Roxie would, but as Edie)*
---
#### ACT 4
#### [SCENE: PERFORMANCE NIGHT]
*The Little Theater is packed. Jade wears a headset. Trip/Bev & Bev/Trip run lights, and Quincy does a nervous warm-up dance backstage.*
**Jade:** “Curtains up in five, team. Edie – or is it Roxie? – remember, singing voice is Diana tonight, not Lili. Trippy.”
**Edie (in Roxie’s body, steeling herself):** “Right. I am Bella. Bella is me. Woof with heart, bark with conviction...”
---
#### [SCENE: ONSTAGE – ‘BIG DOG, BIGGER DREAMS: THE MUSICAL’]
*Edie (Roxie’s body) takes center stage. The spotlight shines.*
**Edie (narrating, dramatic):**
“Tonight... a dog will dream. A dog will dare! For in her heart, a star awaits!”
*She paces, wags tail (awkwardly but earnestly), and launches into the opening number.*
*(Singing voice: Diana Kaarina, as Edie-in-Roxie’s body):*
🎶 "Out in the yard, where the grass is so green,
I chase after dreams, I howl and I preen.
Once a small bird with dreams only in flight,
Now I’m a dog – and I fight the good fight!" 🎶
*The audience, led by Jade and Manny in the front row, blinks, then cheers.*
---
#### [BACKSTAGE: Roxie as Edie fluffs her feathers and hams it up with stage crew.]
**Roxie (in Edie’s body):** “I wanna try my dramatic bow! Is this right?”
*(she bows, but topples off a prop stool, chirping)*
---
#### [ONSTAGE: Edie (Roxie’s body) tries to do a “dog trick” scene.]
**Edie:** “Now watch as I...err...catch this treat!”
*(She misses, then improvises a parakeet-style hop and twirl, and plays it off with an elegant curtsy.)*
*Quincy’s dancing is so spastic he nearly faints – but catches himself, grinning.*
**Quincy (backstage, panting):** “I did it! I didn’t faint!”
*Trip/Bev and Bev/Trip do a brief “body swap rap” in the background, as stage “plants.”*
---
#### [BIG FINALE]
**Edie (Roxie’s body, singing):**
🎶 “Dreams can bark AND fly if you let them!
Climb the fence, chase your star,
No matter who you are!” 🎶
*The cast joins in for a big, silly celebration dance. Edie performs her role earnestly (even if a little birdlike), and Roxie gleefully flaps along, just thrilled to be present.*
---
#### ACT 5
#### [POST-SHOW – PLAZA CELEBRATION]

*Roxie and Edie exchange glances: Edie with pride; Roxie with feather-rumpled relief.*
**Edie (in Roxie’s body):** “I learned a lot, darling. Barking with heart is more than acting. It’s about loving the pack you’re with.”
**Roxie (in Edie’s body):** “I learned being dramatic is super fun, but honestly, I like having paws better!”
**Bev (turns to Trip):** “Ready to go back to turtle time?”
**Trip:** “You know it, slow-mo friend. I’m outta hamster mode!”
*Manny throws the big lever. ZAP! Bodies (and voices) are restored.*
**Edie (in her own feathery form):** “Much better! Though I shall never take my wings for granted again.”
**Roxie (wags tail):** “‘Woof!’ Feels so good to bark again! Edie, you were a really good dog for a day!”
**Jade:** “Not bad, bird. Your canine was less mangled than your French accent in ‘Poodles of Passion.’”
*The pets laugh. Quincy tap dances joyfully, even when startled by a balloon pop.*
---
#### [TAG – EPILOGUE]
*Edie gazes at her reflection in the plaza fountain.*
**Edie:** “I suppose I’ll always fluff my feathers just so, but… perhaps there’s a little dog inside all of us. At least until the curtain falls.”
**Trip (grinning):** “And a little hamster in every turtle. Or vice versa! Who’s hungry?!”
*Bev and Trip chase each other in circles, swapping hats for fun.*

Prompt: Write a long, detailed episode for Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own (centered on a group of pets who use a magical portal to exit the human world and enter the world of Paw-Tucket.) where Edie Von Keet ((speaking voice by Lili Beaudoin and singing voice provided by Diana Kaarina) is a fancy and dramatic parakeet who is a talented actress. She always tends to be greedy for the spotlight, which is a reflection of her 14-year-old owner.) gets the main roll of a play where she has to play a dog but struggles to understand the roll. Trip Hamston ((voiced by Travis Turner, who, like the character, is a rapper) is an adventurous and confident but sometimes goofy hamster. He is also a rapper.) and Bev Gilturtle ((voiced by Rhona Rees) is an energetic blue box turtle. She tries her hardest to entertain the other pets. She likes trying out various kinds of activities.)) who are still body swapped by Manny's body swap device, tell them that Manny Mouser ((voiced by Ryan Beil) is a highly intelligent yellow mouse, an inventor.) has a body swapping device so she uses it to swap bodies with Roxie McTerrier ((voiced by Diana Kaarina) is a hyper, optimistic and loyal Boston Terrier. She cares a lot about her friends, but she can be very naive at times. She likes eating food and having fun.) to prepare for the roll. But before they can swap back the machine breaks down on the day of the performance so Roxie- in Edie's body plays the roll. Other characters: Jade Catkin ((voiced by Ingrid Nilson) is a sarcastic and gothic bombay cat who is Roxie's roommate ever since the latter destroyed the floor in her old home. She is also Roxie's best friend but dislikes admitting it. Her favorite thing to do is sleep.) Quincy Goatee ((voiced by Kyle Rideout) is an easily frightened fainting goat who faints easily. He is Trip's best friend and roommate. In the episode "Pitch Im-Purr-Fect" it is revealed that he isn't good at singing but he is a good tap dancer.) Include dialogues. The voice stay with the body. Stay accurate to the tv series. (At least 2400 words for 11 minute long episode)
