Response: Matthew was a likeable, ordinary college student. He lived his life much like any other young man: attending lectures, studying at the campus library, and socializing with his dorm mates. One morning, however, he tumbled from the comfort of normalcy into the disconcerting unknown. Waking up that morning, he felt a strange disorientation. He opened his eyes and looked around, discovering that his dorm room seemed different. It was his room certainly, but everything was different - the walls now adorned with pastel color, his desk decorated with cutesy stationery, make-up on the dressing table. But the strangest thing was when he looked down. His body was changing. Suddenly, Matthew was no longer Matthew. He was Madison. Everyone accepted him differently, recalling a history of Madison instead of Matthew as though it had always been that way. And yet somehow, despite the mass memory alteration, Madison held onto all of Matthew's memories. Was this a dream? He tried banishing the thought. Even as Madison digested this reality, an uncanny sensation started from her ankles. Looking down, she found her sweatpants morphing into form-fitting leggings. The transformation began at her ankles; the material becoming slimmer; the fabric progressing to her knees, then thighs, and moved even further upwards. The once loose sweatpants clung to her body now, hugging her shape as Matthew had never experienced. His once baggy sweatpants were turning into a sleek pair of leggings; a mix of nylon and spandex that traced her newly formed feminine curves. Madison tried to resist the transformation, her slender fingers attempting to pull at the fleece fabric, but it warped as she touched it, becoming a stretchy black material so tight she couldn’t fit her hands inside of it. The space designated for male genitals first reduced and then disappeared altogether, only remaining as a seam where the two pieces of the material were stitched together. Despite Madison’s futile efforts, the material sat flat against her new female anatomy, the leggings now molded perfectly to her body shape. The skin-tight leggings left no such space, for her new female genitals did not require it. Gradually, Madison came to perceive the look, the feel, the sensation of her new attire - the leggings that fit tightly against her form, accommodating to her new physique without a hint of a bulge. This all marked the complete transformation of college student Matthew into Madison. Even standing in front of a mirror, Madison could no longer find a trace of Matthew. While everyone else took her new identity in stride, Madison wrestled with her reborn self, caught between acceptance and a longing for the life of Matthew that was slowly turning into a distant memory.
